There's been a recent shift away from a complete separation of business and purpose.

This shift is due to the fact that more and more consumers are choosing to give their money to brands and companies with missions or beliefs that align with their own.

To consumers, why you do what you do is now more important than what you actually do.

Earth Day is rapidly approaching and, as an environmental activist and non-profit founder, I felt it was important to help you understand how to make your business one that truly matters and connects with your ideal clients and customers on a deeper level.

So, this week, we're talking about three simple ways to infuse more meaning and purpose into what you do with your business.

There's a lot of focus right now on business growth, diversifying your revenue streams, developing multiple services, programs, and courses, but scaling before you're ready can lead to business failure or slower growth.

I'm a firm believer in doing one thing so well that you become the go-to expert in your niche for it, and John Lee Dumas agrees. Today JLD, host of Entrepreneurs on Fire (EOFire) and I are taking about the importance of doing things that don't scale including:

  1. The importance of mastering one thing before doing anything else
  2. The various passion projects John Lee Dumas has been able to work on in recent years
  3. Why he decided to change the format of his podcast after 2,000 episodes
  4. Why losing isn't a bad thing and how he hopes to help people find their one big win

I can believe we're already in the second quarter of 2018!

When I realized that, I was simultaneously anxious about all the ways the first quarter didn't go as planned and proud of all the amazing things I was able to accomplish.

What kind of feelings does this realization bring about for you?

Whether you're feeling disappointed or excited with the results of the first quarter of 2018, I'm here to help!

If you didn't quite meet your goals, let's work on that for quarter two.

If you did meet your goals, let's keep that momentum going!

Each quarter of the year is a fresh start so it doesn’t matter what’s happened in the last 90 days.

What matters is what you’re going to intentionally do in your business moving forward.

In this episode, I talk about the various phases of my SweetLife Entrepreneur System so have a good foundation for your goals and the steps you can take during each phase to help you either refocus your efforts to keep your momentum going.

I don't exactly hide the fact that I'm a Christian but I also don't regularly talk about it on the podcast.

However, I do strongly believe in being transparent about your core beliefs when you're in a place of leadership and, seeing that it's Easter week, I felt the need to address the often-confusing dilemma of mixing your faith with your business.

Alex Miranda is a former Miami nightclub promoter who, after having a "come to Jesus" moment, left the nightclubs behind to start the Daily Godpreneur; a personal development brand for Christian entrepreneurs.

One topic that's always been of interest to me as a Christian entrepreneur, is the balance between needing money to survive but not worshiping it.

During this part of the conversation, Alex summed it beautifully when he said, "The profits are a byproduct of me doing what I’m born to do."

In this episode, Alex and I talk about his professional and religious journey, how he sees the Bible as a book on how to run a business, the importance of discovering your calling and then shaping your business around that, how he takes his clients down the path of finding their calling, how to balance your business and being open about your faith, and so much more!

Being a entrepreneurial mama requires a supportive community in order to stay sane and be successful.

In last week's episode, I introduced you to Katya Libin and today we're continuing our conversation about how she helps women just like you find the support they need.

Katya Libin is the Co-Founder of Heymama; a global community for entrepreneurial mamas.

After attending college with the intent of becoming a lawyer, Katya quickly found herself being one of the top sales staff at an emerging tech company working with brands like Nike, Victoria's Secret, and American Express to name a few.

After she unexpectedly found herself pregnant while all her friends were still partying it up in New York City, she realized she felt alone in her personal life and unfulfilled in her professional one.

After meeting her current business partner, and fellow mama, she discovered that a connection to other business-minded mama's was what she had been missing.

In this episode, Katya talks about the need to have confidence as both an entrepreneur and mother, why we shouldn't be intimidated by the unknown, the importance of democratizing information, knowledge, and experiences, and more!

Being an entrepreneur is difficult. Being a mother is extremely difficult. Being both means you deserve a medal.

Neither of these two things are easy to do on your own and having a supportive community behind you who know exactly what you're going through can make all the difference in the world.

My special guest this week is Katya Libin and she is the Co-Founder of Heymama; a global community for entrepreneurial mamas.

After attending college with the intent of becomming a lawyer, Katya quickly found herself being one of the top sales staff at an emerging tech company working with brands like Nike, Victoria's Secret, and American Express to name a few.

In this episode, Katya explains her personal journey, how she founded Heymama with just $500 and an Instagram account, why she felt compelled to serve entrepreneurial mama's, how Heymama helps these women by providing both free and paid content, and so much more.

Making pre-recorded videos can be intimidating and, for a lot people, the idea of doing live videos on Facebook can be downright terrifying.

Once the camera turns on, we can become a big ball of insecurities. I know this because this still happens to me.

But, here's a little secret ... no one is going to judge you as much as you judge yourself.

Your audience wants your content and they want to see the real you presenting it.

Our resident Facebook expert, Sarah Tomes, is back on the show to ease some of your fears around going live.

She's also giving us her top tips and tactics for how to best utilize Facebook live videos to grow your audience.

In this episode, Sarah talks about when and where you should go live, why you should be interacting with your live viewers, how you can use your live videos to re-target the viewers, and why you should practice going live in a group you're comfortable with before you going live to your audience.

According to my guest this week, Elena Lipson, if you want to be a badass professional woman, there are seven things you shouldn't do.

Elena is the Founder of Mosaic Growth Partners who helps women gain the confidence and strategic vision to get the promotion, raise, and respect they deserve.

While this is typically a show about entrepreneurship, not every woman wants to start a business of their own or is at the point where they're ready to.

If you're one of those women, this is the episode for you!

Not doing the seven things Elena talks about in this episode will help you get a better understanding of what you should be doing to protect yourself by setting boundaries, invest in yourself, and get what you want.

In this episode, Elena shares her story of how she intentionally designed a business around her lifestyle and the seven things she says badass professional women should not do if they want to get ahead in their career and be respected.

There are a lot of misconceptions about what a lifestyle entrepreneur is.

Your business is about your dreams. It's up to you to figure out what those dreams really are and then design your business around them.

It's a pretty safe bet the vast majority of entrepreneurs prefer to have a business that allows them to spend time with their families, live their passions, and fulfill their purpose.

If the same is true for you, it's never too early to begin designing your business around those things.

That's why I'm discussing what you'll need to think about during that design process.

In this episode, I provide four strategies that will help you build a life-first business that truly meets your needs.

Today, We're Talking About Facebook Marketing.

It's no secret that Facebook and I aren't the best of friends. As an online entrepreneur coach and strategist, I know Facebook is an important tool for me to connect with you, and for you to connect with your followers too.

As coaches and entrepreneurs, we all need to embrace and leverage Facebook marketing in a way that delivers results.

So today I've invited our inhouse Facebook Marketing Expert, Sarah Tomes onto the show, to get real about growing your organic reach through Facebook (and dealing with some of the recent changes Facebook has made regarding business visibility).

Sarah teaches these concepts in a way that are easy to understand and you'll leave walking away with simple, immediate action steps.

In this episode, Sarah talks about what and when to post, how to speak to your clients in your posts, why you need to stop using 3rd party post scheduling tools, and so much more!

Social media has given us a false sense of connection.

We think we have a large network because of our social media "friends" and followers but the vast majority of these connections aren't genuine.

It's always a good idea to network and build relationships with peers but this especially important for those in Phase 1 of my SweetLife Entrepreneur System, entrepreneurs who’ve been doing at it for a while but feel lonely and disconnected due to working from home, and for entrepreneurs who’ve who are ready to grow their business in new ways.

Creativity is contagious.

When you take the time to build genuine relationships, you'll be challenged and inspired in new ways.

In this episode, I talk about three reasons why you need a network, how to build a network, and some of the reasons you might not have already built a network.

There is a direct correlation between your body and your business.

When you take care of your body, and your health, you're also taking care of your business.

If you've feel beyond exhausted, like you can't think clearly, or are overly stressed, you're probably not taking care of your body the way you should be.

While it's important for every entrepreneur to take care of their bodies, self-care is particularly important for those in Phase 2 of my SweetLife Entrepreneur System.

Science proves that exercise and self-care helps you think more clearly, feel more energized, gain confidence, and feel less stressed; all of which translates into being better able to take care of your family and business.

In this episode, I explain how scientific data proves you should be taking care of your body if you want to take care of your business and I also provide simple steps and strategies to help you start taking control of your health.

Your mind controls your success.

This is something all entrepreneurs must come to terms with. Our minds are incredibly powerful and we need to be able to harness by ensuring we have the right mindset for our businesses ... an entrepreneur mindset.

Having an entrepreneur mindset is important to absolutely every entrepreneur; no matter what phase of the SweetLife Entrepreneur System you're in.

There are certain character traits you'll find in almost every single successful entrepreneur.

But, what if you're not born with those traits? What if you don't inherently have an entrepreneur mindset? Can you still become a successful entrepreneur?

In this episode, I explain exactly what an entrepreneur mindset is, break down the ideal entrepreneur character traits, and give my honest opinion on whether or not you have to be born with an entrepreneur mindset or if you can develop one over time.

However, it's crucial you don't just launch into action without properly thinking everything through and making sure what you decide to launch is actually the right choice for you and your ideal clients.

It's that time of year when people feel compelled to make resolutions even if they know they're not going to stick to them. Empty resolutions are just a distraction and will keep you from make any real progress with your business.

Instead of giving in to this behavior, I want to encourage you to set some goals with some substance behind them so you'll not only have the satisfactions of achieving them but you also have a better business and life.

That's exactly why I'm hosting my Commitment Week challenge for the third year in a row.

In this special episode, I'm joined by the amazing Aaron Beach. Not only is Aaron a father of three and an entrepreneur, but he's also my incredible husband.

While I've pretty much always been an entrepreneur, Aaron didn't begin his entrepreneurial journey until a little over three years ago.

Today, we run multiple businesses, and our household, in a way that allows us to live the life we've always wanted.

Being an entrepreneur is difficult. Being an entrepreneur with young kids at home is incredibly difficult.

However, Aaron and I are proof that all that struggles and sacrifices are are worth it.

It's absolutely worth fighting for the life you want, even if you're not entirely sure what that looks like yet.

In this episode, Aaron and I get real about the struggles we've both experienced during our entrepreneurial journeys, the sacrifices we've had to make as a family and how they've helped us become a closer unit, and how our kids are becoming change-makers and entrepreneurs themselves.

It it may sound a little odd, but if you don't currently treat your family, specifically it's finances, like a business, you should.

My guest in this special episode, Natali Morris, is a broadcaster, writer, speaker, co-founder and CFO of Morris Invest, and a former news anchor who has worked for NBC, CBS, and The Today Show.

After being let go from her lucrative job on network television shortly after having her first child, she decided to start treating her family like her business by taking control of their finances.

Now, her mission is to empower women to take control of their money, their business, and start building long-term wealth.

According to Natali, you cannot save your way to wealth. You have to buy it.

The traditional views of preparing for retirement by pouring money into your 401k are outdated.

If you truly want to build wealth, or even just make sure your family is taken care of as you start a new business endeavor, you have be creative with your money.

In this episode, Natali and I discuss exactly how you can grow true creative wealth and keep your family afloat while you’re launching your own business.
